Realizing the advantage of being accessible for mobile users
Google is also developing a new search service for mobile that will help consumers find and buy ringtones, wallpapers, games, videos and other mobile content.
Though mobile content is still a small market, it is growing quickly. Global sales of music, video, ringtones and other content reached $27.4 billion last year, and they are expected to grow to $59.3 billion by 2011, according to the technology-research and consulting firm Yankee Group.
The small mobile screen limits the space to display results, so search providers have to be as precise as possible in determining what a user wants.
Mobile content providers and companies are realizing the advantage of being accessible for mobile users. The WEB sites market is now in the middle of a migration process to WAP. If your WAP site does not look professional or clear enough, it will be hard for you to achieve advantage over your competitors.

WAP marketing is starting to grow
Many Companies around the world are starting to understand the importance of mobile content as a great innovative delivery tool and a powerful marketing way to reach their consumers. Earlier this month the famous American golf player Tiger Woods has created a new WAP site to allow fans to receive updates and information on Tiger.
At the same time, The Bible Societies of America, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, Ireland, Scotland, England, Wales, Russia and South Africa launch an international direct-to-consumer mobile internet WAP Bible site for delivering the Bible to mobile phone subscribers worldwide.
And those two examples are just the beginning of the mobile WAP marketing future expansion. I believe that over the next few months, enterprises brands, and content owners and will work quickly on signing up additional WAP services and publish more content using this developed and accessible channel. This not only will benefit their customers, but will also help them to get a new cash flow source from the content they already create on a regular base.

WAP will be the winner in the race to develop new mobile applications and content platforms
It seems to me that the Benefits of WAP based mobile sites technology are understated right now, but I believe not for too long. When the internet mobile will reach more users worldwide the WAP will be the winning developing standard to build new cool applications in a simple and fast way with a lower cost, compare to developing processes that are using other standards.
My thinking regarding the need of the mobile industry to develop new applications and services in short period of time like in the internet industry was supported by Arun Sarin, chief executive of Vodafone. In his keynote speech before the 3GSM delegates he urged the telecoms industry to adopt the speed of the internet companies, pointing out that it took YouTube just 18 months to reach 20 million users, while it had taken the mobile industry a decade to do the same. "Adjacent industries are moving into this industry. It's time for us to stop talking and deliver. As an industry, it takes a long time to get things done. We need to move faster or others will eat our lunch."
